Where do you go to get reliable info...
Where do you go to get reliable info to help you save...
money? (frugal recipes, Do It Yourself projects, Q & A for repairs, etc.)
how about time? (recipes for quick meals, organizing, productivity hacks, etc.)
Often, as I wade through the sea of information that is Out There, sometimes I think I'm gonna drown in it before I find the info I need at the moment, lol. Some of it is garbage, some is barely worth a mouseclick, and some of it is really, really good.
I usually find what I am looking for, but sometimes I get frustrated at the amount of time I spend finding a needle in the proverbial haystack...
When you are in a hurry, where do you get your best information?
Books (library? Amazon? bookstores?)
Internet (which websites are your favorite and most reliable go-to's, and for what?)
People (family, friends, hired help?)
TV shows? YouTube?
.

My wife finds neat stuff on Pinterest. Me, I am so cheap, I make it up as I go along. IE. I don't need advice, cuz I don't spend money in the first place... lol

Pinterest is great, but that's where I spend (waste) a LOT of time running down a bunch of rabbit trails. How does one stay focused for long in there? 'tis enough to make me go all tharn...

Very good question. Mostly I look and settle for mind stimulation. I find very little complete definitive information anything.

Search on YouTube for car repairs. I find videos that show how to fix the problems I am having. Have saved thousands on car repairs. This spring I put in new rear brakes, new rear axle bearings, new seals, and a new emergency brake cable for just over $100.

First, I would buy or go to your local library to get a book called The Complete Tightwad Gazette by Amy Dacyczyn. This is whom I learned a lot of money saving tips plus much much more.
HTH..

Yes, definitely the Tightwad Gazette. I tend to like books so I always have that info at hand. I have several depression era cookbooks. Those folks really knew how to stretch a dollar. Also the frugal tips on here have taught me a lot. You tube is great for how to videos. Fly lady for organization tips.

Being retired in Las Vegas my hobby is knowing where the deals are. I know this isn't exactly what you're asking, but I think it may apply.
The best is personal experience. I go to a casino and order the special, then see what I get and what I don't get. I learn about the "gotchas" and what I got for the money, then draw my own conclusions.
The second best method is by word of mouth, by talking other people who have done it. Sometimes they will hype the special up more than it deserves, and even neglect to tell you important details. You learn quickly who you can trust and who you can't.
Printed ads for specials are a good way to know that a special exists, but not a good way to judge how good the special might be. Ads are designed to get you in their establishment so they have a stake in making a special sound better than it really is. They will always hold back important details.

The book came out almost 20 years ago, and some of the information is obsolete but the concepts are timeless.

I quit counting all the things I learned on YT, but to name a few...
- How to change my washing machine lid switch
- How to solder silver
- How to etch silver and other metals
- How to make an exposure box (creating photo stencils for silver etching)
- How to knit socks (several different methods)
- Ran down what was wrong with the chainsaw and how to fix it
- How to make an opening for a new window (and which type of window I needed)
- Use my Foodsaver cannisters to vac seal jars with lug lids (the only use I've ever gotten out of those cannisters!)
- How to keep my buttermilk "going" so I don't have to buy it anymore
- How to make mozzarella
- How to make tofu
Sorry 'bout the list being so long...I got carried away!

One of the things I hate about living in the middle of nowhere is the lack of unlimited fast internet to watch YouTube videos with :P

+100% to what FakeMountainMan said!
I felt the pain, too. In order to see YouTube, I had to make the long trek into civilization (is that what it is really called?). Too many times I waited in a long line to use one of the two working computers at the local library. Max allowed 'puter time: 30 minutes! phew on that.
Eventually, I got a "smart" phone (a cheapie), and with the $45 month unlimited talk/text/data plan (StraightTalk), I can see YouTube/mess around on the internet/talk my fool head off all I want.
The ability to solve $$ problems via YouTube/internet on this phone has more than paid for the price of the phone/monthly costs...many times over. I view it as a freebie with benefits.

I will also agree YouTube is a great place to view and get some pretty good info and a whole lot of subjects. And it saves money at the same time. I have found many repairs on how replace so many items and how to cook many items that the list is too long to post here.

If I can't find it here, google is my best friend. I read through information and decide which already agrees with what I'm thinking..and pick it to be "right".

Me too. I only know a couple of people here first hand. When I read someone's experience and information it feels first hand.
When it came to cleaning violin strings with spit--I had to google that one.

Questions narrowed down to:
When you are in a hurry, which websites do you find your best information?

Pinterest and innovation. I have done a ton of cooking and have adapted it to my circumstances. I know which meals I can make fast, which I can't and which are the best reheated for lunches. Personal Experience!
