Western ky resource group

I have been talking with a few people about starting a homestead/organic farming group. A kind of loosely organized (ok. I'm not organized except through randomness) group to share ideas, resources, and help when needed. There are two other families in the owensboro area that are interested and a few on here that have liked the idea.

So I was going to push forth and try and get this off the ground. I'm still trying to get a land deal to go through. Found a tax lien on the place and want it removed before I put my hard earned money down. But I can help others and get this going.

Basically if you are interested just post below. I was wanting to try and have a cookout/social in January and maybe we could order some larger bulks of seed and save some coins.

I live in Philpot ky right now and would be happy to host to help it get started.

Dylan Kennedy, the farm manager for shaker village said he would come down and speak about companion gardening in a round table method.

Ok enough rambling. Hope some others are interested and we can include everyone's ideas on how to make it better. Just thought we need to network together more.

I hope you get some input here, Michael. I think the perfect solution in my mind's eye would be to have neighbors with the same outlook as I have. It would be nice to have each other to count on if things got really rough some day - and enjoyable to be able to work together under normal circumstances.

Good Luck with your endeavor.

hey medic I think you have a good idea. if I was physically able to get involved I would love to. I'm just south of you in Cromwell. a few of us around here and in the Morgantown area are trying to get some homesteading type people interested in meeting about once a month to just kind of learn from each other. we all can do things that we can teach to the others and they can do things some of us others cant. at this point we have a couple of soapmakers, a forager, canners and preservers, a lady that raises sheep, shears and spins yarn, a few good gardeners, a quilter, you get the idea. if we can get the group organized you might want to meet with us a few times.
