Wood frame metal building as house

I was wondering if any of you have a metal building as a house? I saw a couple old threads but that are 6 years old! I would be surprised if those posters were still viewing the threads today. :P

Anywho, I have found a couple of you on here that have built metal buildings but not as homes per se. I am entertaining the idea of using wood (2x6) studs and using metal to wrap the house as siding and of course a metal roof.

A few things I wonder about are
1.) Screwing the metal directly to the studs on the outside without the standard OSB and house wrap? I'm not opposed to either, but I'd love to save money and OSB / house wrap is just that much more of a cost. I figure I may use OSB on the corners at least to provide stability.

2.) Same thing for the roof, I have not been in the buildings I talk about to know how the roof is done, but I assume it is okay to have the rigid metal fastened directly to the truss?

3.) I live in zone 5 and experience all four seasons. I know the metal would have condensation if there is no insulation. Is closed cell spray foam the only way to go?

On my shop I used foil back bubble wrap . I used 10' 2x4's and then stripped the studs with 2x4's for lath added the BW Worked out great even without more insulation unless it is really cold I use a four stack electric heater ,keeps it workable Building is 24x30 labor concrete and all less than $5,000 I think .Reason I think is I just didn't keep up with the cost real well .

For the walls you would definitely want OSB on the corners. Its actually common to do that with rboard, then 1" foam in the middle. We did this with 2x4 construction on an addition. For roofing, you will need to get "structural" grade steel if you want to skip sheathing. Not sure if the additional cost is worth it or not.

You should use some sort of furring strips on your studs and rafters. Otherwise you will have problems. It makes things much easier.

I have built stud walls and put metal on the sides horizontally. It could then be insulated with foam. I sheath all roofs with plywood with tar paper on top, then standing seam for living quarters. I don't use any OSB, if any moisture gets in it swells and mushrooms grow. Have seen a lot of it when OSB is used with house wrap. Any roof without underlayment sweats, here. If frost, it is like it is raining inside. Worse in heated structure.
