Q?-Stored Welding Rod

..............I have (2) of those plastic Blue , round welding rod containers and both are full of various types of Rod , 6011 , 7014 , 7018 , etc. in three sizes ! These rods are ~8 years old and have been stored inside , out of the weather . My Q.........Are these rods still usable as is , or do I need to "Cook" them in an oven to drive out any accumulated moisture that they have absorbed over the years ? thanks , fordy

i'd open and chk them.u'll know by looking at them-discoloration-whiteish deposits on rods.keeping them dry is the best storage tip.metal bread box with a light bulb in it works best for small storage.
