Ice-maker

Kenmore side-by side, water, ice in door. At least 10 yrs old.
Ice- maker has quit, no water either.
Can hear motor trying. I was told the filter prob needed changing or cleaned. I cannot find a filter. Anyone know where this might be?

you MUST have the model number posted in order to get the info needed on a specific refrigerator.

Under the door on right Side in the louvered plastic cover there should be what looks like a knob it just twists and pulls out.

Found a small louver, about 1 inch square. On inside wall of right side.
Will Not come out, looks permanent. I can see what looks like black foam thru louver.
Will look for a model number.
Thanks.

Water line could be frozen also. Unplug it for a few hours.
Happens to ours a couple times a year.

Repairman told me on the third trip

(still under warranty) that because we had a smaller fridge the ice maker was smaller & would not fill as fast as the larger models. He takes a hair dryer & blows on fill line to try & melt ice. Mine has quit again, I've even blown the hair dryer on high thru a funnel, i still don't have ice. Back to the trays again--
