What did everyone do today?

I offered to watch DGS while DS#1, DH, and DS#2 worked on the pole barn. They are getting there. They have about 3/4 of the roof to get done on one side and then they will be working on the siding. It has taken a while to get this done, but both sons are needed to help DH with this project and it is hard to get them all together. I brought DGS with me to bring them lunch. Everyone enjoyed the break with a nice lunch and beverages.
We came home and I had a lot of quince to cut up to make jelly. It took hours to do it. It is cooking on the stove right now. The aroma is fantastic. Tomorrow I will finish it up.
By the way, we have had gorgeous weather all weekend, in the 80s. It is very rare that we get warm weather this late in September. I will take it though. Tomorrow it is going to be in the upper 70s. Yippy.

Burned a big brush pile and a bunch of cardboard. Cleaned the carpets and did laundry. Finished up by having a fire in the firepit with the kids. Three little bats treated us to a happy airshow while we were out there.

We went to church, ate at the Mexican restaurant, then visited WalMart for some groceries.

I took the family to the farm to see the new cow we got yesterday. The cow had her calf pulled the day she was delivered, so she is pacing and bawling.

It was my daughter's first car ride since her knee surgery Monday. She took it well.

We live in NY, zone #5. The leaves are SOOOOOOO beautiful! I threw the saddle on my great mare, rode with my friend on back roads, through the woods and had a perfect day!. Came home to a clean kitchen and hubby had hung one metal cupboard in my tack up area............

What did everyone do today?

Picked apples (played hooky from church) then made a pie and tons of applesauce. I also did laundry and hung it outside, readied the ground for a chicken coop and drew up a map to get permission for chickens. Then we ran errands and dropped son off for scout project. After dinner I cut the men's hair, took in the laundry and am now enjoying coffee and pie and going to watch 'summer rental' with the kids. Gotta love those 80's comedies. . I forgot, we burned a bunch of stuff too. The kids had fun starting it...a good skill to have.

Ps- today is my day off. I work 6 days a week at my real job.

I never do anything physical on Sunday other than the chores. I call the kids in the afternoon, and that's it.

I put new belts on the snowblower just getting ready for the winter. LOL
Watched the GreenBay Packers play, and also recorded the Nascar race so I could watch it later. LOL
Also got the lawnmower ready to mulch leaves as they are falling now. So I had a pretty busy day, while enjoying close to 80º temps, so I wanted to spend time outside as much as I could.

What do you mean real job? The work you did yesterday sounds pretty real to me!!

I know its morning but I just saw this and yesterday was such beautiful weather we worked outside and hauled a few loads of wood up. We hung out in the back pasture all afternoon, my 11 yo and 7 yo sons playing in the connecting woods and I was filling in a washout with fallen brush. It was just a perfect day.

My 11 yo is very focused right now on collecting acorns, he wants to grind them and see if the chickens will eat them. He has gathered over a bushel of them already.......he really wants to fill a 55 gallon drum with them, lol that's a lot of picking and gathering!! We'll see.

apples

picked apples...need to make more apple sauce. Put some in storage and will need to pick the rest the end of the week. This weather can't hold much longer and I don't want to be picking in snow boots.

what lovely times. Fall is starting to think about making it here. weather is still in the 80's. Humidity seems to be manageable. Live can't be perfect as ragweed is killing me. On Sun we relaxed after having a grueling 14 hrs. Sat. standing in the sun for our son's marching band competition. It was so much fun to see all the bands and get to talk to some of them. Our other son had been at boy scouts and was tired too. Today I went to the grocery store stocked up on sale items and reorganized the pantry. I watered the outdoor plants and hosed down the patio. Then took some energy to the kitchen where it is mostly cleaned but to get the orchids out of my sink drain board. I am glad you all have had nice days. I look forward to fall giving more energy and focus to some needed projects.

I sat here at work typing in new stuff on HT, wondering why no one was answering. I guess maybe other people have jobs where they actually have to do something??? Oh well, I guess I will go look for a cup of coffee or something to snack on. Maybe someone will write something interesting by the time I get back to the computer? Man 2 more weeks of this!!! I am ready to go home NOW!!!!!! I got new piglets at home and am going to the MEN fair in Kansas when I get home. At least that will be fun and hopefully I will learn something. Now for that cup of coffee!!

Yesterday I went to a waterfall with my daughter in law and stepgrandaughter and we took lots of pictures for me to use in my paintings and for SOL to use on her photography site. It was so nice we actually sat in t he falls, very unusual this time of year.

Ive already took off one thing and it was wrong, so waiting to see if ive found the right thing before taking it apart.
