HI! I was just in McNeal yesterday picking up three little goats. I do not know how much of a homesteader I am but I am working setting up a little spread here in Cochise 1/2 mile East of Hwy 181. I know there are others in AZ as well, by Casa Grande and the white mountains area as well as in the cities.

I know what you mean, just cause folks live out in the desert does not make them homesteaders! I think homesteading is a mind set and a life style more than anything one has growing or planted.

Azhomesteader and Sisterpine, I hope I get to meet both of you sometime this winter. I bought ten acres west of Pearce which I hope to make my little homestead for retirement even after hearing about the mine reopening I have decided to go ahead with my plans. Will be a simple living self sustainable place as much as possible. I grew up with a homesteading life, just my work got in the way and I am looking forward to returning to a more natural way of living.
