Panhandling by PM

It has come to the attention of the mods that there has been someone/s that may be approaching members here via PM asking about helping them with their bills.

This person or persons may ask for help with anything.

If you are approached, and they are not a good buddy of yours in normal life, please consider reporting that post, so the mods can verify who is doing this.

We are looking into it, and it is not rampant, but it is occurring.

And it could be someone that knows you here and approaches you using Facebook or other methods. We cannot do anything on other forums or sites, but be careful.

And remember, you can say "NO".

THAT is what the bums on the corners are doing on their phones. They are diversifying their portfolios!

I was playing violin in the parlor and left my violin case opened next the scones. It was an oversight. Someone tossed a couple of dollars in the case. I said thank you, but that I did not leave the case open for tips or donations. I just enjoyed playing for others. The person said it was not for me to play, but to stop. I'm sure it's just a misunderstanding.

Jeez.

Ask for a couple of dollars to send kittens to camp for the summer (far away) and folks get all bent out of shape.

Wait. How will I feed my goats this winter?

Guess I'll have to stick to begging in the goat forum.

Something has happened like this at some point in the past. Fortunately it seldom happens here.

It really helps to have the PM reported so we can zero in on the person/s doing this. It will help us verify who we are pretty sure is doing it. When reported it shows who sent you the PM and cannot be claimed to be an inaccurate forward or copy/paste in a PM to me or other mod.
