The original

I've been MOGal on these forums as long as they've existed. Recently, I saw posts by someone calling herself MO Gal. I PM'ed her and requested that she consider changing her name since there was such a close similarity. We exchanged private emails and I enjoyed visiting with her. She said she'd ask the moderators if she might change her name and I've heard no more from her.

Today, I saw a post by MO Gal so she's still using that name for whatever reason--either she didn't contact mods or there is some reason why the mods can't approve a change. I just hope that if she posts something you don't agree with, you will be sure which MOGal/MO Gal you approach with your disagreements.

Thanks for your understanding.

The original MOGal.

It is hard to remember different people using similar names. I have a wendy problem and a farmer (fill-in-the-blank) problem. I am easily sent off track by them.

A member may not be aware that they can contact Angie to have a username changed and they will not lose their post count and their previous posts will stay with their identity.

There has not been a request from any name changes recently.

I'll send that MO Gal a PM and see what we can come up with.

To borrow from T.S. Eliot:

"But I tell you, a cat needs a name that's particular,
A name that's peculiar, and more dignified,
Else how can he keep up his tail perpendicular,
Or spread out his whiskers, or cherish his pride?
Of names of this kind, I can give you a quorum,
Such as Munkustrap, Quaxo, or Coricopat,
Such as Bombalurina, or else Jellylorum -
Names that never belong to more than one cat."

Choose your 'nym wisely.

I had a orange and black calico cat that I named Corpuscle. It was the word of the week at school back in the 50s.

I knew a black cat named Asphalt. Made me laugh every time I had to say it's name.

I know of two other Curtis Williams. One was a kid actor, and the other was the father of a student at a school I worked at 25 + years ago.

I have about six strays that live under my porch. They are all named Kat.

I think you might change your name if she wont.

I had a buddy who was traveling abroad and when he checked into the hotel, he got the super duper better than everything upgrade to a suite, free room service, presidential type treatment.

Turns out his rewards program number was 1 off from another guy and their entire names were exactly the same, save that his last name was Michaels and the other guy's last name was Michael. The upgrade should have been given to the other guy. He didn't realize until he was checking out (beside the other guy who'd been in a normal room). Awkward!

Thanks, Angie.

WR, she said she was going to contact a moderator to see if she could change her name. Oh, well.

If the name change doesn't occur, I'll just sign everything with "MOgal the original" or something of that nature. Or maybe just change my name to MOgal the Original if it comes to that.

Had a big long-haired white cat that we named Fruitcake because he was nuts. A part Siamese queen we named MIA because she didn't meow, she mia-ed. Had a black cat named Lucky. A gray tabby with white whose eyes looked like he was wearing eyeliner--his name was Max Factor. Solid gray named Cloudy when we got him.

Where I want to, I'd probably go with MOgal O'Riginal since I'm predominantly of Irish descent. Your suggestion inspired it though.

I sent the PM to the tech guy some time ago, as I told you via PM. Unfortunately, he has yet to change my screen name. Not much I can do about it when my request gets no response.

If anyone knows who else I can go to in order to get my screen name changed, I would appreciate the info.

Send me the PM, he's not around hardly at all any longer.

I do all that name stuff anyway.

Looking forward to your pm and some great ideas you have for a new name.

Angie
