Fence opinion please

I am fencing 2 acres of my property. I am using Turtle Island wire fencing. It's fixed knot field fencing that only requires 20' spacing on posts (on level ground). Ideally I'd like to start with this longer spacing so I can just get the fence up (half as many holes to dig/posts to buy). Down the road I am hoping to be able to add a top rail to the fence (the make it a little taller and look sharper). To do that I'd need to have closer spacing on the posts obviously so I figured I could save up and add in posts every 10' once I have the money. Opinions on whether it's smarter to just do it all up front or to spread it out over more time to ease the cost/time burden?

I'd ease the cost/time myself. Also winter is coming so get that thing up before it's too late!

I think you're on the right track. Do what you can now, and add to it when you have the time and money. Good luck!

Take to someone local about the fence. 20’ may be too far apart if you get much snow. You may need to top it with white tape if deer are an issue (so they can see it and jump per it.)

Sort of hard to dig post holes after the fence is up, isn't it? What will you use as a top rail? Around here, 8 foot long oak 1 by 6 boards are cheap, but would never be able to find a 10 foot oak 1 by 6.
A couple weeks ago I drilled 60 post holes and set 60 posts in a weekend. Waited a few weeks and drilled and nailed 180 boards to the posts, making a three board arena in a weekend. Posts spaced 8 feet.
If you can get a tractor mounted post hole digger, you should be able to make quick work of it.
