Best presevative for a wooden fence?

We'd like to put a coat on before the rains set in here in the PAC NW. We have pressure treated posts. Open to suggestions if anyone has a recommendation.

Thanks

Posts rot first at ground level.
Preservatives that last are costly. Preservatives that are cheaper don't last.
I'd paint the posts with used engine oil. It is free and it works. Then, I'd reapply it at ground level each year. Keep the weed whip away from posts, it eats them up.
If you don't like the look of black engine oil, buy a few 5 gallon pails of non-detergent oil, like hydraulic oil. Lasts as long as Thompson's Water Seal at a third the cost.

...............You should coat the bottoms for the first 3 feet of so , before , you stick them in the ground ! You can then take your time on the rest of the length , above ground . If , you used those $2 dollar specials , they won't last long , they are usually made out of very porous wood that decomposes rather quickly . , fordy

I've had really good performance from Total Wood Preservative products. Maybe costs a little more but it lasts forever and does an excellent job in tough environmental conditions.
