Blacksmithing doesn't fit anywhere!

I can't find a forum that it fits in nice and cozy! I have a renewed interest in learning a bit of working with metal and IDing metals etc but don't know enough to even get in trouble with it. Anybody do any of this? I'd like to learn enough to build a homemade forge and melt down different metal etc. Just all for the experience. How 'bout it,any body doing this kind of stuff?

The Hubs does a lot of blacksmithing. There is a blacksmithing group in your area. Hubs is a member of SOFA (Southern Ohio Forge & Anvil Association). You can go to the monthly meetings and learn stuff for free. Yearly membership fee is $10. You can also buy good coal at a discounted price, as well as use their forges. There will be many a willing mentor there to help you!

Go to abana.org and do some searching. You will get an information overload there.

This is the big get together here soon. It is for the Ohio one. Below is the link to find the satellite group for your part of Indiana.

There are some blacksmith groups in Indiana. I'd join the group that fits you best, and attend the meet-ups. Tons and tons to learn from those guys.
