Does anybody have a WD AC tractor?
Theres a spring that attaches to the gas lever rods at a place high up near the rear of the valve cover. Im needing to know where that spring hooks onto at the other end.

There should be parts drawings on the AGCO website.

Is that a heavy or light spring? How long is it? Does the other end fit into a hole made for it?
Molly, what the heck is a ball crank??

bell crank would be the proper term, it is the funny shaped piece where the 2 rods and the spring are connected.
The spring looks to be a decent size. There is a hole in the iron under the tank for one end and the other goes around the post pointing away from the camera on the bell crank.

Sammy, I can see the stud on the 3 fingered,(bell crank). That one I got fingered out. Just needed to know where it hooked on the other end. How long is the spring? I assume by your saying its pretty though that its a stout spring.
Does it help with pulling the gas lever all the way down, a thing I cant do now??

it's bell crank, sorry, My DH said the picture is right. It's called an extension spring he says. He doesn't think it will effect the throttle--

The spring is approx 8 1/4 inches long with about 4 of it straight where it goes to the bell crank.
the amount you can move the throttle lever is set by adjusting the rod that is connected to the governor itself I believe.
My other WD doesn't have a spring like this one but has a smaller spring attached to the rod to the carb and looped around the petcock on the side of the engine block. Must have been a cobble job from the previous owner, never paid any attention to it before.

Is the address for the drawing and part number, we don't have a WD anymore, DH was going from memory, he has rebuilt several. I can't up load the drawing, maybe someone can measure the spring on their tractor.

It didn't open. I found out where the spring hooks to.
Ive been reading what 3 acres says in his post about bailing 4 X 5 round bales with a 5X5 bailer. I may have to use my boys 49 over bored WD on my bailer. It still needs new wires, maybe new plugs, and the carb cleaned out. My boy lives in town, so I keep it out here. Its say for 3yrs at least. He a couple weeks ago got the starter and mag worked on. I imagine the generator is bad too.
Thanks for all the time and help.

will the single acting hydraulics on the WD operate the double acting cylinder that opens and closes the chamber on the baler?

No, but if youll read the posting by 3 acre something about manual tying bailer, youill see that he has had a 2 way remote on his M Farmall. He says he still has to use the Farmalls hyd lever, but he can control the flow with the 2 way.

if the WD has a mag there is no need to spend money fixing the generator. Just slap a charger on the battery every once in a while. As long as you don't use lights you'll be OK.
Haven't had a working generator on either of mine ever.
I have pulled around an 855 chain baler and I can't say I'd like to use the WDs to do it. They are heavy empty.

Yeah Sammy, that's been the way with my H Farmall. The wiring was somewhat hanging off it when I was sawing wood, and it got caught and tore most of the wiring out of the tractor, so, like you, I just run the charger on it every now and then.
Well, like it or not, Im gonna have to bale with the WD, as the PTO in my D Brown is shot, and the labor to break it and fix it is $1,100. Im gonna have plenty time to find someone cheaper, as I wont have that kinda money till winter.
