Help finding a rental in Mifflin County, PA

My youngest son may be moving to Mifflin County in the next month & I am looking for some help in finding him a place to rent. He moved to Elk County 2 months ago & it was next to impossible to find a place from long distance. He would like to live out of town. Presently he lives in Ridgway & town living & on street parking is not his favorite. I can't find anything on the internet & not much in the Lewistown paper, so if anyone has any ideas, please let me know. I will know next week if the move will happen. I know there are some people here from that area, so any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Depending on where in Mifflin county your son is looking to live, I know that the closer you get to State College or Harrisburg the more expensive your rents will be. Since your son is looking for a specific place to live, I would look for a small room to rent for the first few months and not trying to find a whole apartment. Then take those few months to look for the out-of-town rental he is looking for.

Look on craigslist, select State College, and enter Lewistown in the search area. A bunch of places come up.

Thanks. The requirement would just be Mifflin County, so anywhere in that county. I haven't checked Craigslist, didn't want to wade through the State College stuff. Didn't know you could put Lewistown in the search, duh. He knows about the rent in State College, as he spent 3 years there! Thanks again.

Edited to add: The room would be a great idea. He has a small apartment now, but didn't get much furniture, as he expected to move again. If he would happen to get the Mifflin County job, there may be a move to Dauphin or Schuylkill by next year this time.

If he can go anywhere in Mifflin county, I would move as close to State College and rent a room. I might cost him $300-400 a month.

Thanks everyone. He didn't get the job, so he will be Staying in Elk County! Unfortunately that's 4 hours away! Mom is sad!!! He only minds, as he hates living in town. He likes his job & coworkers. Maybe he will get to Dauphin or Schuylkill County next year!
