Now I know how grandpa might have felt.

He bought the CC Case tractor I now have, but supposedly never drove it.
OR, I know how a steam traction engineer might have felt when he bought a gas tractor.
I got the op manual for my DB tractor today, and didn't understand 1/2 of it.

James, this thing didn't come with a hay spike, but the 2 forks like on a bale buggy that I have. Im thinking of removing the top turn link on the 3pt and replacing it with a 2 way cyl so as to load hay onto trailers. Whaddia you think?

Don't know. Boy pulled the diesel and filters out. I replaced the air cleaner, which looked like it had been there since new, Got the oil filter for it, But don't have the money for new oil. I sent off for the diesel filters, but havnt got them yet. Saved 6 gal out of the tank when I put the filters in.
Luckily, the sign wont be right to cut it till when/after I get my next check, as I got the sickle bar being sharpened, and cant get it out either. Ill buy the op manual for the bailer then too. Well have dang short time to famialierize ourselves with it before we have to use it. Im hoping that he ll run the bailer while I take the bales out of the field with the H and bale buggy,
When I get the gas back in it, ill raise the arms all the way up, take off the top link from the back of the spears, and brace them level. Thatll tell me IF ital. raise high enough or not. IF not, ill put some extensions on the arms to make it work.

James, The injector/carb has 2 rods going to it, and a port? on top, on the front and at the back of it. The front port works, The back one, which is hooked to the accelerator, dosent. My boy has an idea of rigging the throttle lever to the front port, as I don't have the money NOW to have it fixed. Will doing this work? Will it run the bailer?

I don't know what all you have, but you need a Fred Cain scissors deal to allow the 3pt to raise the bale spear up about 5 feet.

You put it on the tractor 3pt, and your bale spear on the thing, and it works sort of like a post hole digger to scissors the spear/bale higher.

Dawgs, id like to see that operate. I should only have to load trailers, which Im guessing are between 3 and 4ft high.

Any thoughts on my Injector/carb question??
