Nortrac Tractor?

One of the guys I work with might be selling his Nortrac tractor that he got from northern tool company. He bought it to use while he was building his home, 2 years ago, now he is finished with it and talking about selling it. The tractor is very clean, and in good shape. It has a 35 hp motor, 4 wheel drive, and a front end loader. he said that he never had any problems out of it. My problem is that I don't know anyone else who owns one and im not sure how well they are built. if anyone knows anything about these tractors, please let me know the good and the bad. he is asking 11,000 and a new one is 16,000.
Thanks Tim

Watch what you do. I bought a David Brown tractor, and I cant find anybody, other than possibly NAPA Who carrys gas, oil, and air filters for it. I forgot about NAPA, and ordered the gas filters, 2 from a parts catalog. I got the oil filters from NAPA, forgetting to ask them if they had the air cleaner. I went to TSA< a large farm country store here called ATWOODS, and Ford, and New Holland, and JD, and none of them had the air filter. I called my DD while on the road and asked her to call NAPA to see if they had one. Turns out they did. NOW< it turns out I cant afford to buy it this month LOL. DD is getting me the operators manual for it for Fathers Day.

I think they're made by Jinma, which is a good brand for being Chinese. I wouldn't buy one, but they are supposedly decent tractors.

Way high priced for a China tractor.

Kubota, JD, New holland are worth that.

Yanmar, and others coming from India/ Korea are worth near that. They are good enough machines for a value price.

China stuff is the low value stuff, not worth that. Doesn't have the fit and finish, tend to leak easy, no dealerships or support, etc.

Now I don't mean to beat them up as trash, but..... They are the low end stuff, and used price should reflect that. Way overpriced in my opinion.

I'm with Paul. After two years, particularly with some construction use, it should be depreciated by 50% or more.

IF you need a tractor, I would not buy, you may have to wait for the parts to be shipped. IF you can do without it when it breaks down, you may consider it at a very reduced price, knowing it may take a while to get parts....James

Pretty positive it's a Jinma.

Google and read.
