Metal

Posted this in construction but no answer yet.

#1 or #2 metal Which is the better grade?

I was told #1 will not fade (at least it is suppose to have a longer garnatee?) Is this correct?

#1 wood is better than #2...would assume this is true of metal but not positive.

...................Is this metal for roofing on your home or for the side of a metal building ? I'd want to know the gauge(thickness of the metal) !
For instance I'd choose a thicker metal for a roof than for the side of a building due to potential hail damage . 26 gauge is used for roofs I believe . You need to know the gauge of the metal along with it's UV resistant characteristics . , fordy

For the hay barn I built I used the no warranty economy grade on the walls and no 1 on the roof. No 1 29 gauge here is $64 per square. Economy is $48 per square. For a simple run in shed no 2 should be fine

Here it is sold by the running foot $1.80 for #1 painted it is three foot wide .Just makes it easy to figure ,screws are $12.50 a bag .For a 12x24 I think the price difference wouldn't break one up to bad .About $300.00 for trim screws and all .
