I'd make that patio that my wife has always begged me to make for her. NICE pickup for free for sure!

I agree with James, they look like silo staves and staves do interlock but it doesn't matter what you call them they were a great free find. I have some and wish I had more. They make a great path. I have more broken ones then whole. DH and I made an archway out of cattle/hog panels and put the staves underneath so we wouldn't have to mow there. The broken ones were fit in where whole ones wouldn't fit and put along the sides of buildings to prevent weeds and erosion.

If you have a house with peaked roof , no gutters and enough staves , they make a great foundation erosion splash pad. That was what my household maintenance man did for me when the dirtcrete splash pad I had him mix in after I took the gutters off this house 25 years ago started getting broke down by grass growth about 5 years ago.

Don't know where he got the pick up and trailer load of them for free but he had enough to splash pad the foundations of my 45 foot deep peak line house and his 40 foot deep one and didn't charge me for materials or labor since as he put it , I have always shared my 40 proof homemade fruit preserves with him and his wife likes my homemade country wine best of all.

Free is so nice isn't it?
My Dad had an old silo made of these and when he had it taken down (six guys with sledge hammers--who knew what they were doing-- and about 10 minutes later it came down just as smooth as can be. The concrete even made a tinkling sound as it fell. I taped it.)
We got enough unbroken pieces to make a patio, using an old trampoline for the shade part. (no, it can no longer be jumped on)

On edge they will make great raised beds, dig a hole as deep as they are, put four on edge line with bricks and you will have a neat fire pit for your patio, put some under your downspouts for splash blocks, use some under your trash cans to keep them out of the dirt, stack some along your driveway to keep cars out of your grass. Those blocks must have a thousand uses. If I was close to you I would surely help you out and get them out of your way.

I would use some to collect heat in the center of hoop house or sunspace to offset heating costs in the winter, spring and fall. I would think they would collect and hold a lot of heat if painted dark and enclosed. Zone 4 mindset, don't know what zone you're in.
