I got a Patriot soda charger on sale for $25 that can use the sodastream cartridges. You got a great deal there. Don't use the charger bottle for your mixes, only use it for the carbonated water. I don't care for a lot of sugar so the first "recipe" I use is to use 1/3 grape juice and 2/3 carbonated water in a tall glass. The second is a bracing one that has a nice kick. Put a dash of salt into the bottom of a tall glass, add an inch of fresh grapefruit juice, then about four inches of carbonated water. I add just about four drops of GSE (grapefruit seed extract) if I am a little under the weather.
If you want other flavorings, use a pint jar and about 8 oz of water and a cup of sugar to make a mother solution with kool-aide. If you try mixing a little of the mix alone with the carbonated water it may be uninspiring. Add a trace of grape juice or apple juice and the flavor and smoothness will kick up.
Cranberry juice and carbonated water is a kick as well.
