Angry Birds eating my grass seed

Yesterday, I put grass seed over several bare spots in my lawn. I covered it lightly with garden soil and watered it well.
Today I saw at least 20 birds eating my seed. How do I get rid of the birds?

If your concern is primarily protecting your grass seed do as my father and figured out and buy a cheap bag of wild bird feed and load a feeder or broadcast it in an area away from the grass seeded area.

Birds prefer the wild bird feed mix to grass seed and will eat at the free buffet first.

The Freds store here sells 25 pound bags of wild bird seed for about $6 and it last me about 3 week as I keep the birds from plopping on my vehicles or eating my planted wildflower and vegetable garden seeds.

An added benefit is my dogs like to sit at the windows and watch the assorted birds feed.

I need that kind of bird seed. DW feeds the birds daily and they still plop on the car. Maybe they're the insect eating birds and not the seed eating birds that are doing that.

I had the same problem. Bought a few cheap rubber snakes in differnt colors. Layed them on the seed and moved them a little each day. No more birds......

A good .410 is good to get rid of birds but if you are a bad shot a .12 gauge will do the trick.

Scatter hay on the bare areas to help hide the seed, then feel lucky you have birds in your yard.

At is why I generally seed in the fall. But when I have a spot, I have covered it with floating row cover and weighted the edges with sticks for a few days.
