Turning my car into a home refueling station and elimiate gascan

Suggestions how to do this? Got a old Ford Ranger Pickup truck, and why refuel gas cans when there is a tank of fuel just setting right there... I just got to figure out a way to add a gas nozzle.

I'm thinking a dual battery setup, using the OEM electric pump and a tee on the fuel line, I can hook up a gas hose with a gas station nozzle.

My question is what safety things I need to prevent the truck from bursting into flames in an accident?

If it has an electric fuel pump, which it probably does, put a T in the gas line past the pump, and put a small ball valve past the T with a length of gasoline tolerant tubing.hose.

If you want to transfer gas, start the truck, open the valve. It's cheaper and safer even though it may be a bit slow.

You could break into the fuel line coming out of the fuel tank, with a "T" and a ball valve. Add a hose with another valve on the end of it. Pull the mower up along side. Turn on your key. The pickup's fuel pump will pump fuel into whatever you want.
This probably isn't as fast as dumping it in from a can but will do the job.
You would just need to make sure that you turned off the valve before turning off the key in order to keep any air from getting back into your pickup's fuel lines.
I made a 44 gallon auxillary tank and installed it under my pickup's toolbox. It has a valve built into the bottom, underthe bed of the pickup. I hooked an electric fuel pump onto it to fill my tractor the same way as I described in the above paragraphs.

The bigger fuel nozzle probably wouldn't be a problem but if the pickup has fuel injection there is plenty of flow and pressure in the small hose to spray out a ways....James

Why not just drop a couple ounces of the blue Stabil into a can and put it in your truck.
The next time you put gas in the truck fill the gas can.
The red Stabil doesn't work well in gas with ethanol.
The blue kind deals with it great.

There is a kit made to do exactly that. I can't for the life of me remember what it's called. It's probably overpriced, but maybe worth it for safety. If it matters, it's probably illegal to rig up yourself but the kit has passed whatever approvals are needed.

If your Ranger is newer than about 1988, you probably have a T in the fuel line to test the fuel pump. Simply connect to that.

Put some gas tanks into the bed of the truck - may even want to get some additional ones- put a hose at the bottom of each tank and fill whatever you want by using gravity flow from the higher truck bed -

Any concerns with static causing sparks? I'd have the fuel nozzle grounded to the truck, but the truck is on rubber tires.

No more then when you're normally fueling the vehicle.
