Recycling gray water??

I'm considering recycling my gray water and using it to water my plants and herbs. However...I make lye soap on a regular basis. Will the lye in the gray water burn up my plants?? Also, I noticed the grass in the area of my yard where I dump my mop water is dead. I use essential oils to clean with and I'm wondering if the EOs could have killed the grass. If so...they will be in my gray water also because I use them in my soap. :/ Anyone have experience with this?? Thank you in advance.

Yeah, if you're going to use greywater for plants, you want to be really conscious to use gentle/bio-friendly soaps.

Lye won't be helpful, nor will EOs, (or vinegar and bleach, for that matter)
