Central Vac

just wondering if anyone has an idea what is wrong. I can get this to work in the 2 places downstairs no problem but not the one upstairs. I took a pic. just in case it would help. when I insert the hose downstairs it turns but this one only ever had to be pushed in. doesn't turn. that hole goes straight down to the connection downstairs. worked until a couple days ago. I haven't unscrewed it yet. suppose it could be electrical . thanks! ~Georgia.

Sure sounds like an electrical problem with that one outlet .

There will be a (hopefully) low-voltage pair of wires coming from the central vac to the outlet. The outlets work in the same fashion as a light switch in concept, except the pair of wires is (hopefully) only completing a "hose is inserted" detection circuit, and not providing power to the vacuum. I'm almost certain they wouldn't do such a thing.

Unplug the vacuum, then remove the plate and inspect the wiring and the metal contacts that come into contact with the meal hose end. Hopefully the issue is right there. It may be back at the vacuum, or it may be at a splice from one of the other outlets or somewhere in between. Not fun.
