Got more land last night...

Some of the High Plains of Texas and New Mexico dropped on me last night. March shouldn't happen. I remember in the early to mid fifties when we had dust storms comin through in the evenings from out west, bad drought then too. Not a good sign this early in the year.

Dust storm? How much dust were you "blessed" with?

A freshly washed vehicle under a carport has enough dust on it to "write" on the windshield. I saw the dust coming last night on radar on the weather report. I smelled the dust before I went to bed. That with windows and doors shut.

Granted, not as bad as when I was a child in the 50s and momma tied a wet distowel over our faces to catch the dust.

I remember some of the dust storms we got in Lubbock... We had a couple that left 1/4" of dirt on everything.. It was pretty cool watching some of them come in..

Up here in the frozen tundra we don't get spdust this time of year.

But man, has it been windy, most of last fall, got a terrible downburst storm just as I starts to harvest wrecked my corn and beans broke trees over in the grove.

Had strong winds all winter, from the NW, from the West, and from the SE. Blows 30mph one day, then the same from a different directing the next day.

Back and forth.

Our annual dust storm is about to hit NC, like clockwork.
Our dust is the yellow, sticky kind that seems to be really good at pollinating pine trees.

I seem to remember a year or two ago when I was living in Ellis County, TX, everything being covered a reddish dust, pretty thick if I recall.
