Beef cow wanted NC/Sc area

Hello Everyone,
I have read many of the post and so happy to have stumbled upon this site. Learning lots and know I have a long way to go.
I am wanting to know if anyone in the area around Charlotte, NC and/or Columbia, SC has a side of beef for sale sometime this summer/fall. Or knows where to get one. I have looked at several sites and most of them are organic but mine does not have to be just would like to support local farmers and also to know where the beef is coming from.
Any suggestions are welcome,
Thanks
Gloria

Put a post on local Craig's List, under farm/garden:

************************************************** *****************

Want To Buy Beef cow

I want to buy a good beef, say 1000-1200lbs, around (insert date). I want to see the cow live on the farm, and will pay half at that time, and the other half when it is delivered to (insert name) processor.

Name/phone/email

************************************************** *****************

If you want grass fed only, or grain fed or whatever, include that info.

You'll get a better beef (IMHO) if you say 1000lb or better, versus a spring calf that has been raised on pasture thru the summer and is only 600-700lbs in the fall. I like a beef to be 18mo to 2yrs old, because that last 6 months to a year, they really fill out and make much better meat ( again, IMHO).

Also ask the nearest butcher who custom cuts for local folks.

Try Brick House Farm, Gaffney, SC. They have a website & various packages. Their beef is grass fed & they have other grass fed critters as well. My DBF & I have had some of their beef & it's not bad.

the link is: brickhousefarms1943.com.
