Turbo tax V/s H&R block softwear

I own a small farm and been electing to do my own taxes for 5 years now. I have used H and R block software. I use a Schedule F and also a Schedule C for my wife's Bakery run from our farm. The H and R software i have to manually open Schedule F and fill out the blanks. Would it be to my benefit to switch over to Turbo tax? is it easier for farmers? I know there is many questions and comments on this. but one pops into my mind. All my carry over deductions listed on H&R. Would it be "nearly impossible" to convert over?
Thanks Jac

I've never used the H&R Block software, but I've been using Turbotax online for many years. I don't think that you'd have an issue with switching to Turbotax because the software asks basic questions to fill out the forms. For the carryover stuff, you'd have to re-enter all of the start dates for things like depreciation, but you'd never have to enter them again and the software will automatically calculate the depreciation. I have never filed a Schedule F, but I do the taxes for a couple of businesses that hubby and I own, so I am familiar with completing a Schedule C. I also use the downloaded Turbotax software for my S-Corp and have found that it is also very easy to use and asks questions rather than forcing me to complete manually.

I do think that it is good that you still know how to do the paper forms. I find that the paper form experience helps you to do a better job when preparing taxes with software because you actually understand WHY the questions are being asked!

We've used both for tax prep, but we don't have any businesses, so ours is not as complicated. I found TurboTax much more user friendly than H&R. We use the online one. You can start it for free if you use the online version.. that way you can see if you like it better.

My DH uses Turbo Tax so I'm gonna say it's the better. He's up on that sort of thing.
