Reelfoot TN

Has anybody been to Reelfoot lake to fish? Is the fishing good? Where is the best place to tent camp, and how soon are the temperatures warm enough to tent camp comfortably ( March April)? Or does anybody know of reasonably priced comfortable cabins to rent in the area.

Was hoping to get response from someone who has been there --- I can look online all day ( I actually have today), but not getting a lot of good info on the campgrounds and I've been to a few really bad campgrounds. Most info online are from people trying to get you to come and spend money so of course they will tell you fishing is great.

I catch all my fish at one the restaurants over looking the lake . Use to be lots of stumps to dodge there . Here year to year is different on the temps .

I always camped at the state campground there and its decent. Their busy season starts april 1. As for fishing its popular for crappie. I turn to joshgowanoutdoors for reports on fishing at reelfoot. He seems to keep a hand on that area.

There are 2 ends to the camping area, south and north. We stay at the south when wanting to get away to some quiet. Families with loads of kids stay in the north side. Son loves the north.
Weather pretty much stays nice for tent after April.
Boardmans has some nice cabins, but you can finds lots of other nice ones all around the lake . It depends on how close to the restaurants and stores you want to be.
I hope you enjoy Reelfoot as much as we do.
