name of catalogs??

I am looking for a catalog & think it comes from Tennessee-it is like Lehman's catalog & has everything & lots of reproductions also....cannot think of the name of it for nothing...or if you can think of other catalogs like that-let me know...

I am looking for a wood cook stove to replace the one i lost in the fire but cannot find no good used ones in Mo. close by me-so guess will bite the bullet & buy a new one as bad as i hate to,already checked the stoves out at Lehman's....

Also-would/could you recommend a good wood cook stove if buying a new one & what ya like/don't like about it??

Thanks for any information~~appreciate it!!

There used to be one called Cumberland General Store; much like Lehmans but a little more expensive. I haven't gotten one in a good number of years so I don't know if they are still in business or not.

I think Cumberland almost went out of business a few years back, but then rallied. However, they cut down their stock tremendously and didn't have nearly as much as they used to. I don't know how it is now.

I used to order from them all the time, but they usually didn't have what I was looking for after the near bankruptcy. I'll have to re-check them out, thanks for reminding me craftychick!

You are probably thinking of Cumberland General Store which used to be located in Crossville TN but also put out large catalogs for sale on magazine racks at bookstores and such. The original store went out of business in 2005. But the mail order business and name was bought by someone in Alpharetta GA and continues at a reduced level as an internet store. Just about forgot, I recommend Waterford Stanley wood cookstove. That is what we have. They are made in Waterford, Ireland, where they are by far the most dominant wood cookstove. Lehman's sells them.

yes-plowhand....checked them out to....have not called about shipping yet though being its a weekend...they sure have some nice stoves though but afraid shipping will be a bear-might have to bite the bullet though...ya know..Lehmans has some nice ones to....cannot find none no where else except those two places...

Thanks everyone else for your help...Cumberland is what i was looking for & found out they don't have the stuff they use to have...so been looking at Lehman's....they seem to have more...

I got a quote for shipping a Kitchen Queen, almost to Wilmington, NC. I thought, well my jaw dropped when the fella told me $168..........I was thinking several more hundred than that.

There is another site Obadiahs Woodstoves.....they are in Montana I think...they have a few more brands. There is a place up north that does reconditioned Glenwood stoves....
I've about decided on a Kitchen Queen, I sure love the look of the older stoves, but I can't pay 5 to 10 thousand for a wood cookstove at the moment, don't think i will later.
The only reason I'm thinking about a new one , is that being steel, instead of cast iron, it'll be easier to repair locally . There aren't that many folks left that can weld cast iron. Plus I want something to help with the heat, something I won't have to load wood in every hour or so....like my Mealmaster!

yes-found that site by accident yesterday-they have reasonable priced wood cook stoves & some are on sale now...i am like you cannot/do not want to pay $5000.00 for a wood cook stove...want a nice one though as it will be the last one i buy-i hope...

I am surprised by the shipping cost though-expected it to be more....

Good luck in what ever one you decide to buy-its a big investment!!!

Thanks for all your help though-appreciate it very much!!!
