Where do you get your wide mouth canning jars?

Where do you get these from? The cheapest I have seen around here is about 2.50 a box for the wide mouth(the Amish store around here are even higher). I don't really like the tattler lids so that is not an option.

They have a sale right now, 11% off everything so under $2 a pack. This is about the normal sale price around here.

I get my lids in long bulk sleeves from the Amish store. I think there are right around 300 wide mouth, or 350 regular. Last time I bought them, they were $40.00 for the sleeve.

Meijer had lids on sale for 1.00 a box for the regular. I'm not sure if they had wide, but it would be worth a look.

Since you are in Iowa, you're not far from a HyVee store. They have both jars and lids year around. All sizes including 2-quart jars.

No, I checked the wide were $2.67, not sure why they only had a sale on the regular. :/

Walmart is way too expensive for canning stuff here. I usually get stuff from Menards but they have been cleared out for awhile. On-line they have it for 2.19 a 12 pack in my area That seems to be my best bet. Thanks everyone.

I bought some at a local grocery store and I use both the regular type and the Tattlers. This year, I did so much canning, I ran out of Tattlers, so did pick up some of the regular types for my wide jars (which I prefer).

Walmart for wide mouth lids. Last I bought were $2.25 a dozen. Why are wide mouth lids so much more that regular? It ticks me off.

I got mine at Meijer. Something like $1.27 per box of 12. Wide and regular. That was in October though and they were on clearance because apparently, according to the guy stocking, "canning season is over". Not at my house it wasn't.

Wow I have never seen lids for anywhere $2.00! A couple of times Amazon has had them for 2.49, our local stores are $5-6 for a dozen wide mouths. But those are small town stores.

For the same reason a 5 lb. roast costs more than a 2 lb. roast. More material.

Technically, you can't since small mouth would be 63mm as versus 70mm for regular and 86mm for wide. All major companies quit making them in the 1980s.
