non gmo feed

I am located in central il. My family and I are interested in feeding all of our livestock non GMO feed. Does anyone know where I might be able to find this. Am looking for pigs, goats, poultry. Any advise to point us in right direction would be great.

I was raised there, and if you have any acreage to speak of you should be able to grow whatever you want to feed. Heritage seeds plus acreage should equal non GMO according to my limited understanding........Joe

Thanks Joe. We live on 10 tillable acres. Was thinking about that myself that it might be easier to grow our own.

How far are you from the Decatur area? Do you need a complete feed or could you use non GMO grains to mix your own?

You can use organic feeds or raise your own.

If you stick with a mainly barley/wheat/oat based grain all you need to find is non GMO soy or canola meal if you need extra protein

If your neighbours are farming, you can also consult with them and see who is growing non GMO crops and purchase grain from them until your own crops are established. The subject has been in the media so much that the average person is inclined to believe that all farmers are growing all GMO crops, which isn't true.
