If you need financing, insurance, and permitting, any of those can be more difficult for a combo building like that. Insurance especially, when you mix living quarters with storage shed/ shop area they get a little skittish on the risks that poses.....
Beyond that, not a big deal. Pole buildings make cheaper sheds, frame building is easier to finish out as a home, pick one and compromise on the one or other.
How big a shed are we talking, will you go 2 stories for the house portion, put off a wall and insulate that part well, does work out fine.
