Underground power cable--how far can run?

200 amp alum cable. Anyone have a chart or figure on how far you can run from meter and still expect to get 200 amps and no problems?? FB

If you put 200 amps into the wire you will get 200amps out of the wire.
Where that power goes is the issue. THe size of the wire and type of wire will determine the cable loss. Baiscly you use up some of the power to get the rest to the end of the wire. What you will see is not a CURRENT drop but a voltage drop at the receiving end.

You said 200amp alum cable. that sound slike trailer drop cable. About 100ft is the longest for that run without a noticable voltage loss.
