Well- Hand Pump

Any of you have experience with using a hand pump to depths of 200' or more. We are thinking of how to get water out at our place. Don't have electricity....don't really want it. We've thought about a hand pump, but our neighbors well is 200' deep. I know it can get pretty heavy pumping from that depth....just wondered how bad.

Check out the hand pumps at "survival unlimited.com". Not undoable, but my experience is that it is low volume and hard on the equipment. Since you don't have a choice, buy good equipment.

With that kind of depth I would look into a windmill. Set it up to pump to a tank so you have water when the wind doesn't blow. Besides those old windmills look pretty cool.

drop a line down to find the static level of the water in the well.
It might be 50 feet or even less

Simple pump

Go on line and check out the Simple pump. I have one that is hand or 12 volt that is run off a good battery. It will pump down to 300'. My static level is only 20' and the well is 76'. I am getting a solar charger that will keep my battery charged up.
Hope this helps.
