composting toilet question

I have these little nats in there, gobs of them. I've tried barn spray and liquid sevin. Today I sprinked borax in there thinking hey, it kills cockroaches right? I'm expecting company later this week and people already think I'm wierd. It's kind of tricky defending my point when you get little knatty flies swarming on your unmentionables

it's a storebought Biolet, not a five gallon bucket type. The liquid drains out into a drainfield under the house and all solids are appropriately covered with sawdust. Been using it for almost two years and this is my only complaint.....

If they are fungus gnats, then they are likely there because they are finding some kind of wet/damp medium. Keeping the surface dry is the best way to avoid fungus gnats.
