worm bin in 5 gallon buckets

Anyone ever do this? I did a bit of on-line research and think this just might work. I tried worm bins before but not ones with drainage holes and separate layers. I like the "spacers" in this method and the bottoms could still be used as planters.

I did something real similiar, the containers even looked close to a 5 gallon bucket, but were alot bigger----probably 20/25 gallon. They worked good. My problem was not having some where to keep them in the winter to keep them from freezing. They were to heavy to be moving them. So I moved everything inside a camper and used different bins. I can move the camper out in the sun during the winter(shade during the summer) to warm it up and run a small gas heater to keep it above freezing when needed. These 5 gal buckets bins seen like they would be good for someone that wants to get into raising worms. I like the set-up!

Nice info . thanks.

Strange thought of the week: I love deadlines. I like the whooshing sound they make as they fly by.

I think I will try this. I already have the buckets and if it don't stink I will keep it in the house. One of the few advantages of living alone.

I have tried four to six 5 gallon buckets as bins using plastic screw anchors as spacer tabs to reduce the floor footprint by mimicking the can o worms design but found them not as effective as recycled black plastic truck toolboxes , contractor tuff box toolboxes or totes configured as these

for stock production and ease of herd maintenance.
