Nissan 1\2T with 5.0L Cummins V8 Diesel !

......................For those interested , Nissan has formerly announced it will offer it's 1\2 Ton pickup with a New , 5.0 Liter , V8 Cummins diesel in 2014 or 2015 year model ! Fuel milage estimated to be around 26 mpg , 300 hp and 500 ft. lb's torque . The smaller truck may get a 2.7 liter , 4 cylinder Cummins diesel as well , but this hasn't been completely decided , yet !
......................Everyone is expecting\waiting to see , IF , Toy is going to offer a diesel as well to compete with Nissan .
......................Chevy may offer a diesel in it's small pickup as well . , fordy

That's great if it doesn't require DEF and have a DPF.

I've been reading about this since I bought my Frontier in 2008. Glad they finally pulled the trigger and did it. If they do a 2.7L in the Frontier I'll be getting a new truck sooner than I thought.

Too bad Ford pulled the plug on a Diesel F-150 after building prototypes and everything. Maybe they'll pick it back up.

They've been promising this for 10 years. I'm glad it's finally come to fruition.

Why would ford take a step backwards like that? Emmisions requirements have killed the diesel. Too expensive, to much maintnance, and once cost difference of fuel is factored in they dont get that great of mpg. Unless you are going to be over 20,000lbs all the time gas i the way to go.

Im holding on to my dinosour until ford puts a larger turbo DI gaser into a 1ton.

Toyota already had a diesel dually prototype but it was placed on the back burner when the economy took a dive. If I recall correctly it was an 8 liter isuzu diesel engine.
