stuff ripening late this year???

I'm in NW Ohio (zone 5 I think). Seems like stuff is really late this year! I've just got blackberries STARTING to ripen. I was thinking I used to pick those the entire month of July. Beans are just starting to be ready to pick and I planted them at the normal time. Just seems odd this year. Anyone else notice the same thing?

Blackberries almost done here, apples early, not much else actually did anything this year...peppers and tomatoes failed...need to buy them from farmstand 20 minutes away.

This is a concern in much of the upper corn and soybean fields of the USA as well, we had snow storms in May yet, very late spring, lots of cool this summer.

As well as all our gardens.

An early frost would be, as Pooh says, bother!

Everything here seems to be running late too. Blackberries were two weeks late, muscadines are just now starting to turn. The garden is doing well but, if we get an early Fall it will go since I did not get to plant til mid June due to all the rain. Only things doing really good are the tomatoes and bell peppers cause they are in raised beds in the back yard. Oh, and I forgot to put the wire back around the bell pepper bed after mowing and the stupid chickens stripped the leaves and almost ready peppers off the bottom of the plants. So ready to get done with the chicken run! At least I have baby peppers they did not touch and a bowl with about two dozen in the kitchen ready to process. Otherwise I would have been much more upset with them LOL.

Late here in NC Iowa as well . No tomatoes yet but we were able to harvest bell peppers .As for flowers , my Joe Pye weed didn't come up untill July 3rd. Balloon flowers not until very late June .I think I may have found the problem in my area :

We got 2 bad blizzards in May at a time when I would USUALLY be planting tomatos!

I just figured that a late spring= a late harvest.

Yes, late in Minnesota too.

The blackberries just turned red last week. Patience...it's hard!
