pvc projects site

http://www.pvcworkshop.com/SubmittedProjects.htm

Site that has some very clever pvc projects, everything from furniture to fences to gazebos....short on instructions (there are some at the bottom) but most are figure-outable just from the picture. The 'tree cage' looks like something I may need to try.

Be aware that PVC and the UV in sunlight don't mix well, and that when PVC breaks it can be incredibly sharp.

You can use conduit which is more resistant to sunlight. I build chicken tractors out of PVC, my first one was built out of regular PVC and it has been outside for about seven years, although I painted it when it was first built to protect it. Not sure how long it would take to break down without protection. Conduit exposed on my farm for over 13 years is still good. So it should last for years.

Yep, agree that the conduit will last longer. It shatters *sharp* as well though. I've got some in end of my driveway that the propane truck ran over. No way would I make any kiddie toys out of either. I'd use galvanized steel electrical conduit instead.

You've got that right.Give one of these chairs a couple of years of sunlight, and it turns into a time bomb waiting for someone to set in it.Don't ask me how I know.Just take my word for it.pvc projects site - Homesteading Questions

You got that right.
And that site showing things to make for the car to carry things on.WOW no way no how, not with PVC getting brittle and such. I can't believe that site would show many things like that made out of PVC to haul items in a vehicle. That reminds me of a book written years ago about a car (Corvair) "Unsafe At Any Speed"
