cob V Plastering a wall.

Whats the difference. Our basement was plastered as was our cave (outdoor celler). The plaster was around 1 to 1 1/2in thick. It held for at least 100yrs far as I know.
Place Im hoping to get I will want to dig a celler, and wanting to know what would be best, what would be easiest, and the money differences involved, along with technique differences.
