Finally Wyoming

I don't get on here too much anymore, but I have known some people on here for years. Long story short..had a farm, lost it all, decided I wanted to live in Wyoming, went back to school until I could.

I graduated in December with degrees in geology and biology. I had a job before I graduated, went to work in Oklahoma. I was promoted twice since then and yesterday I started my first hitch working in Douglas, Wyoming. They tell me I will be working here permanently Last week I put an offer on a half log/half frame scary looking fixer upper on 13 acres north of Cody.

It took me six years of hard work, frustration and countless hours on my bike and treadmill listening to Chris LeDoux when I was losing faith, but I have done exactly what I planned to do.

I spent the vast majority of my life, taking it as it came. I didn't make plans, I reacted to circumstances. I didn't know where I was going, but rather worked towards getting out of where I was. After I lost everything I decided that I needed a different approach.

I decided what I wanted my life to be and figured out how to make it that way. It hasn't been perfect and my reality and vision are not perfectly aligned, but dang it sure is close.

If I can do it, anyone can Know where you want to go, make a plan, don't give up.

Great job! Cody is a stunningly beautiful area. Enjoy your new life, and success. You earned it.

............Absolutely beautiful area Jena ! The fact that you were able to hold onto your dreams while you over came problems and still reach closure is very good example for those still pursuing their dreams . It does get very cold there in winter .Good luck , fordy

Congrats on moving to Wyoming
Spent some time around Gillette, Douglas and that 112 miles of not much in between.
If I didn't live here, I'd for sure live there

Congrats. I spent my teenage years in Clark. Are you that far north of Cody?

Alva, that's interesting. I hear it is really booming right now. Congrats Jena! We lived for several years in the Patrick Draw area which is in SW Wyoming after spending 25 years in the NW OK area and although much different than Cody we loved it. I hope all goes well.

Congratulations Jena - I hope you take documentation photos of start to finish of your fixer up - you'll appreciate them when you sit back and enjoy it when done.
Or when you think you're not getting it done quickly enough.

You are really an inspiration of making your dream come true.

It was probably pretty close to that in Wyoming today, but I left Alva about a month ago. I was just getting used to that place....

That is terrific! Wyoming is such a beautiful place. I used to teach part of a geology field camp out there in the summers.
