Wish I could share!
I know there are places that need rain a lot more than here, would be glad to share if I could! Rubber boots again today, it's been raining steady since about 4 AM and supposed to rain most of the day.
Ten day forecast shows ONE day that is supposed to be totally dry, no chance of rain/thundershowers.
All I can say is I'm sure glad we're not trying to put hay up.

We haven't had a 24 hour period without rain in about a month! It has ranged from a few sprinkles to flash floods (3 of them)...and I've had quite enough. The ground is absolutely saturated.

Well the chances of mud have disappeared till state fair, I fear. Have had a wonderful spring and all the ponds are full. Grass is still green.

We have had 33 days of rain from a quarter of inch to 3 inches depending on the thunderstorm. Total of 23 inches so far.

Welcome to my regular life. It rains for 6 months straight here. The mud could devour a small child.

We're up to over 40 inches so far this year, 16 inches over average, and with July being our normal wettest month of the year, the totals should be even higher if this trend keeps up. Long range drought index for next couple of months, shows us in blue, which is extremely wet on their scale. I think we have one day that's suppose to be clear for the next week or so. The trees are loving it, but I'd like to see a little more sunshine!

I really don't mind all the rain, it keeps the temps down and as long as the sun comes out every once in a while, I'll be happy. I just planted my flowers and last week, got the most of the rest of my garden in. This year, we're later than normal, because it's wetter and cooler than normal. I will take it though - like the change from year to year. Last year, we had scorching days for the longest time - dried everything up....
And you know, Mother Nature can't please everyone......

We got 3 1/2 inches yesterday, l inch on Tuesday and more called for today. I just worry what happens to the garden when the sun finally comes out. Hope the plants don't cook! Last year we were in a drought..........

Folks, I commiserate with you, but after the drought we had last year, I am sort of a rain lover this year, if for no other reason than to get the ground water back up to where it needs to be.
It is really hard to get a few dry days to cut hay around here.... but at least there is hay, and pasture, and the trees aren't dying.

I don't need sunshine ... I need rain.
There's big ol' cracks opening up all across our farm. I went out and looked into one of them yesterday, and there was this Chinese fellow staring back at me.

Point two inches here in the SW desert yesterday, I think for the first time since last monsoon season.
The only saving grace is less than one person per square mile in our county, and that includes a few small towns that are not nearby, so an inch of groundwater over our 30 acres is a year's worth of our personal consumption, I guess.
Dry has it's rewards, though. There is no smell more lovely than creosote bush that has been without water for a year, getting a soft, slow, female rain that persists for an hour or so. It's a bit like burnt caramel, but only a bit. Too lovely to really describe. When it happens, I have been known to stand in my office door all evening and soak it in.
Aside from the smell after rain, it may be the most worthless plant on the planet, and so, sometimes, I can't help but feel that God put it here as a special favor to me, one of the few who ever get to enjoy it.
I feel so sorry for those with an underdeveloped ego!....... ...........Joe
