You push it through, cut the barb off and remove it the way it went in. Look on the bright side, you caught one!, and it looks like a doozy.

Get drunk and let a sober buddy cut it out for you.

I stepped on a sheet of styrofoam sheeting with pin through it for holding model airplane wing together, held them enough to go through the rubber soles of my shoes, but not enough to hold the pins in styrofoam when I lifted my foot off foam. No try removing pins from rubber soles with fingers...ain't gonna happen, try removing shoes...ain't gonna happen...had to take laces out and pull back tongue and lift my foot out.
This happened many years ago but I remember every detail!

Exactly as vicker said. Push it threw cutoff the barb and pull it back threw. Make sure you have A shot or two in you. It will hurt less. Seen many a fishermen 3 sheets to the wind get a hook or two removed with out novicane in the Er.

I got a hook in my leg last year. (And no, I wasn't drunk or fishing. I was cleaning up along side of a lake after some fishermen left trash all over, the hook swung free and got me in the leg.) I had one of my friends cut the top off and push it thru. It did not feel good at all. I checked w/my doctor as to when I had my last tetanus, slapped some anti bacterial ointment on it, then a bandage and was good to go. If it had been in a different part of my body, I would have probably gone to the ER.

That looks less painful than stepping on a male power plug barefoot going to the bathroom in the dark or walking barefoot across a hardwood kitchen floor on a spilled gallon container of uncooked rice to get a broom or vacuum to get the spill up.
They could have used barefoot rice walking instead of waterboarding at Gitmo and probably gotten bin Laden 3 years earlier

Yoiks Ow!!
After reading the attachment (two hooks!), I would start with a bucket of ice water to numb the foot...side cutters or nippers to separate the lure and the other barbs, or the stuck barb if you can cut high enough and have some shank left to work with...then, as others have said, it needs to push through...
Hope you're doing better now.

We went fishing on a pontoon boat at dark while on a family get to gether. before it was over someone had flipped a hook into someone head on the back swing. My one brother is one of them ''watch this'' kinda guys. So he says I will cut the rest of the barbs off to not get them stuck in our fingers. Clip,,Clip they were gone..but he just takes the hook and twisted it up through and cut the barb off. Now the third brother is raisin a fuss,,telling us how bad that hurt and all. Well it really took to bleeding and he ended up at the Dr.. they said it was a little crude to remove it that way but it was out..Also that the hair line cuts seem to bleed more than others.

Dang. Haven't heard back from Andrew.
Fish hooks aren't fatal, are they?

my first thought was worse than a lego - ever stepped on the sharp point of the belt buckle ?
that almost always happens when jumping out of bed to deal with a noise or such
then there was that nail i stepped on , i was stepping off the trailer i was putting new decking on , that nail went right thru my boot into my foot and , i was standing on that foot i had to to put the rest of my weight on it while i got my other foot down so i could stand on the board , with my left foot while i pulled the right foot up to get the nail out of my boot and foot.
like they said sacrifice the hook cut it with a diagonal cutters then push it thru

Stepping on a pyramid-shaped wooden block, in the arch of my foot, while 9 months pregnant. That takes the worst in my experience! My foot cramped for hours and I think my husband was still partially deaf when the baby arrived a few days later.
glad you are okay.
