Tree trimming critter....

We had a power outage here in Virginy. They needed to do major tree trimming. They brought this critter in....I never knew such a thing existed.

Giant saw on a free-swinging rope danging beneath a helicopter?

Thats not a rope, but aluminum tubing that the pilot can maneuver in and around the entire tree from the top down.

I seen them using one of these about 2002, They were cutting beside the Huge power lines. It was interesting to watch.

Seems like it would leave quite a few widow-makers hanging in the trees. Whatever it takes to to save a buck, right? What did the video say, it would free up a few crews?

Remind me never to build a tree stand near power lines anymore. Hunting season may get pretty dicey.....lol
