Rabid Puppy Sold at Bivens Dog Trade Sulpher OK

http://www.news9.com/story/22635478/...ppy-in-sulphur

SULPHUR, Oklahoma -
The Oklahoma Department of Health (OSDH) is searching for people who may have been exposed to a rabid puppy recently sold by Bivens Dog Trade in Sulphur, Oklahoma.
The 10-week-old Bluetick/Walker Coonhound was sold Sunday, June 9 on Highway 177 north of Highway 7. The pup was one of five or six puppies for sale that day for $100 each. Just a few days later, the puppy became sick and died. The OSDH Public Health Laboratory confirmed the dog had rabies.

This was on the news this morning. I'm posting this in case any body was there or knows some one who was. They don't have much information and the man had more pups for sale.

Heard about that. They even included the pic of the pup. It's on all the hunting dog forums on FB.

That is so sad. If Mom had an IMRAB the puppies would have been protected for a few months after birth. It's too bad that they don't demand proof of vaccination of puppies or Mom before they allow people to bring them to the event.

If you breed in Tx, it's required... at least if you are legitimate and have a state license... they (the State) is cracking down on anyone breeding outside of the law... penalties can be harsh.
