$40 prefab outhouse!!

It's a packing crate! We have a composting toilet to put inside it, we're just cutting the sides at an angle and putting a piece of scrap metal roofing on it. The "door" (aka lid) is inside of it.

That is funny.
Just today I was sorting through some stuff and I found the pictures that were printed out from a roll of film that I found in my dad's 65 year old camera.
When I was a kid the house in these pictures had already been torn down and so was the old outhouse. I did find the three hole seat board in the old lumber pile. Just today I noticed that one of those old photos showed that three hole out house. I was showing it to my sweet wife and our daughter.

It looks more like a chicken house to me [lightbulb going on]. So where do you get one of these things?

That looks like a nice sized one to work with! While everyone else is offering up practical advice, I just keep thinking about how I could dress it up with wallpaper and wall art to make it look purdy!

I wouldn't use the whole "front wall" as a door, but cut a door in that so that it was very very stable. Those packing crates are often not that sturdy after a while, having worked with them at a recycling lumber yard for quite a while. If all the walls are in place, it's much more stable, even if you cut holes in some of the walls(door and bottom).

I think you should put in a dutch door, like Chic Sale recommended. That way, you can look at the view while you're... uh... having your quiet time.

Id go for the dutch door. That way, somebody pull in, as my mail woman did last week, they dont catch you with your pants down lol.
Why didn't I have the door shut to begin with, so, as the one posting about the DD, so, I, being alone here, could see the trees, and smell the, ah, whatever LOL.
