about the compost threat

the people that use it, is it taking a long time to load for you?

I've read on vbulletin forum that threads over 1000 posts, are very slow loading and may not be optimum for reading and posting.

I have split the song game in General chat to keep it at about 1000 posts.

Would splitting the compost thread - take the last 100 or so posts, start a Part 2 thread, and stickie it under the orginal make it easier for you to use?

I'll check in from time to time to see what people think.

Angie

about the compost threat....

Uh huh, now the truth comes out. Compost is a Threat! I knew we couldn't trust that sneaky forerunner guy.

Seriously though, the compost thread is loading just as rapidly as any of the other threads for me today.

well, apparently my internal spell check was not working.... or the threat is interesting things to put in for composting.

I just don't want to mess with it, if it is doing okay for most.

At times, lately, I have noticed that the entire HT site can get a little like January molasses , but the compost thread hasn't been particularly slow loading in my experience.

My little composter isn't threatened by the big boys. The pages load OK for me too.

Never had an issue loading the thread, but share the same experience with HT as a whole. Sometimes it is slow but the entire site is, not just specific threads.

Okay - then I'll leave it alone.

Thanks for the info.

If it becomes an issue of loading what about splitting it up by year? I love looking back to see how many things have changed.

We can consider that if it ever becomes an issue for the users of that thread.

The thread has had more posts and views than many HT forums. Maybe "composting" should become its own forum.
