Advice/opinion/review for a good wheel-type planter

Whats up guys. Just finished a 1/4 acre of corn with my jab planter...total time; 8 hrs. There has to be another way. Mother Earth magazine recommends this walk behind wheel planter; http://www.earthway.com/products/gar...-garden-seeder

...looks like a cheap piece of plastic junk to me ( sorry if I offend ).

Anyone have any recommendation for something a bit more heavy duty...something made to last and work right? I don't mind spending a bit extra for good quality on this.

The Earthway planter works well for me. However a lot depends on your soil. It works well in good mellow soil without much trash or clods.
For planting larger plots of corn (1/4 acre or more), I have a old Dempster corn planter set up for my compact tractor. I can plant 2 rows at a time and make a quick job of planting larger areas.
The Earthway works well for other garden seed such as beans, peas, beets, etc......, you just change plates for different size seeds.

You never mentioned if you have any type of garden tractor. With access to a small garden tractor a Cole planter can be affixed and will work great for planting up to a few acres. I have a pair of these original planters and I think that someone is now making a copy and marketing same. PS........I did a search and found this

I had an Earthaway planter and I didn't like it that much. As said. The ground has to be clodless free. There is another plastic planter with bigger dia wheels that costs around $110 here that, with the bigger dia wheels might work better.
What I hate about most planters is that you've got to squat down to work on/with them. Chanfgeing plates, putting in seed, ect. I wish theyed make a planter that is a NORMAL tractor planters highth, but pushable.
