Our old house has quirks.

We are getting ready to move in our 100 year old house in liberty, Tn
Our son in law is spending last hours.
His first in counter was at a late hour he locks up the house and proceeds across the yard to only realize that he had walked up on a doe asleep in the yard. She was upset and snorted at 3feet and jumped up. Derek stated that he had a almost brown moment.
That would not been bad except he is back over it is late quite and as he throws garbage in a barrel a screeching noise comes. A toy witch had been deposited and in a old house with all the old noises this was another almost brown moment.
Love old houses.

This 100+ house came with a ghost. He's done 'helping" me now that all the renovations are finished.

haha. We seemed to have had a ghost when we did our reno's on our 125 year old house. Lights coming on by themselves, finding water taps on etc etc. It all quieted down once we were finished.

it's fun all the little things that come and go while working on an old house.
My Wife and I are currently remodeling ours and I am sure I have had "visits" since we started but the house has never been out of the family so I am not to worried about the spirits hanging about.
I'm pretty sure they are only curious about what's happening. The first year I lived here I went out to the barn and about got run over by a deer that was sleeping behind a hay bale,it was pretty cool

Nothing surprises me out in the country!

I enjoy our not-very-level floors in this old house. I can park my electric scooter off the brake and slowly coast across the room.
The ghosts have quieted down after a few years too.
How about having a deer so close to your window that you can actually see it's eyelashes. It about scared both of us to death!

Our 100+ year old house had it's quirks too. The wife and I woke up at 2 am (our 'quirk' seemed to like 2 am for some reason) and the TV in the living room was on full blast. The problem was that we didn't have a TV in the living room, or anywhere else for that matter. I went to see what was going on and just as I got to the living room door, the sound stopped instantly.

my ghost is a helpful ghost. It turns on my washing machine. Even when there is nothing in it, the machine turns on, fills, washes, and drains. Only happens a few times a year...

I wish our ghost knew how to do drywall Actually, for the age of my house I've never really noticed anything strange. It's going on 150 now.

The house I grew up in certainly had occupants. I met a man who lived there when he was young. He told us that my bedroom was his parents' room. I noticed, as did my sister who inherited my room when I moved out, a sense of being watched over in that room. But it was a good feeling not a scary one.

I have a friend who was convinced her house was haunted. It sure seemed haunted to me. This went on for a long time and she was getting kind of scared. It was pretty creepy. Things would be moved around the house which she could not remember ever having touched. Lights would be on in rooms she never used. Things would be missing which she had just used hours before. All the toilet paper would be unrolled and all over the floor. She would go into a room and things would be laying all over the place like someone had just thrown them everywhere. The mystery was solved one morning when she found cookie crumbs all over the computer. Ghosts don't eat cookies! She was the ghost. She was taking a medication which caused her to sleep walk. She changed the medication and the ghost went away forever.

Our 120 yr. old farmhouse had a resident ghost....she would appear as an old lady rocking in an old rocker in my son's room. Old timers around here say an elderly woman passed in this house many years ago.

Just yesterday a 90 yr. old neighbor told us that our upper field used to be an Indian burial ground. Most don't know as when it got around people took to digging for artifacts. Many have small family graveyards on their farms. Legal here in MO. This is the field we were going to establish ours.
