Anyone can apply? There are no qualifications for submitting an application other than being able to create a video? Doesn't seem like the smartest way to choose the people that are going to be sent to another planet

Seems like a really good way to weed people out to send to mars. Can I submit videos on behalf of other people?

I believe the whole thing is set up as a TV game show, and going to be funded in that way.

So, going to need a lot of strange and high octane type personalities to keep the drama up.... Tune in next week, to see who takes over command of the lab.....

If it were done right, might be kinda interesting.

Big bucks, low values, always seem to win out on TV, so I expect the whole thing to implode by the middle of the 2nd season, and nothing comes of it.

Kind of sad this is what science and space exploration has fallen to.....

Hmm... Plymouth was not exactly a failure, at all. I have ancestors who came in that way, and ancestors who met them when they arrived. Given that my clan alone numbers around 650 people now (those that show up at reunions and there are many other family lines descended from both sides) suggests the Plymouth colony was a resounding success.

Mars colonizing might be the next smart move. We need to decentralize off this rock in preparation for the 'next big thing' (remember the dinosaurs! )

Seriously though:
