Corn fungacide

For those of you that plant open pollinated corn, how many treat the seed with a fungacide to prevent smut growth? Mine had more than I would like to see so I was giving it some thought. The problem is the smallest container is $300. and would be enough to last 20 years for the 5 acres a year that I plant. Would it be considered money well spent or a waste of cash?
